Flex My Complexion was born out of a deep passion and commitment to celebrating the richness of Black culture. Founded on the historic campus of Florida A&M University (FAMU) during the fall semester of 2015, our brand emerged as a bold response to the negative perceptions and stereotypes that too often overshadow the beauty, creativity, and talent within our community.

Our founder, Castillo Mitchell, was driven by a profound sense of responsibility to change the narrative and showcase the pride that comes with embracing Black culture. Inspired by the powerful movements of the past, like the iconic "Black is Beautiful" campaign of the 1970s, Flex My Complexion stands as a modern declaration of Black beauty and excellence.

At Flex My Complexion, we believe in more than just clothing; we believe in creating a movement. Our brand is built on a foundation of love for our culture, a celebration of creativity, and a commitment to elevating our voices. Through our unique designs and empowering messages, we aim to educate, uplift, and inspire everyone who wears our products.
